SierraSoft Topko 2009 Express

Topko Express is SierraSoft entry-level product, which offers, at a very competitive price, sophisticated tools for topography, cadastre and 3D management of survey. Topko Express is addressed to those technicians who need a fast software, practical and easy to use for the management of topographic and cadastral works. By Topko Express it is also possible to generate sections, create terrain numeric models and calculate volumes. Topko Express is a synthesis of the commands contained in Topko TM software, made easier to allow a faster and more immediate use.

Data acquisition from total station and GPS

The tool allows the acquisition of data from the most widespread GPS and total stations; procedures for the conversion of files in the original formats of the instruments are available.

Utilities and technical calculations

Different topographic utilities have been arranged, among which: Intersection angle-angle (2D and 3D); Resection 3 points; Triangle resolution; Resection 2 points; Generation of virtual stations and points referred to them; Tachimetric sight sorting;Generation of sights from coordinates (tachimetric and chains and offsets).

Survey calculation

Topko Express provides calculation and empiric adjustment of a closed traverse or a constrained traverse and elaboration of field surveys both from total station, GPS or both.

Subdivision of parcels

By calculating automatically the subdivision line, the tool allows to define the value of the area to separate from the parcel. The subdivision line can be: passing through one point, through two points, parallel or perpendicular by two points (to one side or to any direction). If requested, Topko Express can insert points for building the subdivision line and creates automatically the two parcels resulting from the division.

Coordinate transformations

Rototranslation functions (with or without scale variation) allowing to perform cartographic insertions of field surveys.

Terrain modelling

The generation of a triangle surface DTM is performed in a completely automatic way, according to survey points and break lines (walls, slopes, etc.).

Contour lines

The generation of contour lines is automatic and can be completely customized by the user.

Volume calculation

The volume of a digital model can be calculated according to an elevation or according to a reference inclined plane. A specific report lists in detail the partials calculated for each prismoid, justifying analytically the results obtained. Besides cut and fill volumes, also cut-fill lines are calculated, and for each point the elevation on the plane defined is determined. Volume calculation can also be performed by sections.

Cross sections

Automatic extraction of terrain sections both along a direction and along a polyline with possible projection of the points on the main directrix. Extraction of elevations according to the elements that can be found in the survey: triangles, contour lines, break lines, survey points. The annotation of sections is fully automatic and can be personalized. The cross elements of the sections can also be inserted manually.

CAD – Dynamic input

In order to make the input of data in the CAD easier and faster, a dynamic input has been introduced. Dynamic input controls all the requests for information input and display, which will now appear near the cursor in the graphic window.

CAD – Vertex table for polylines

The window of polyline properties displays polyline vertexes data in table form, making it possible to use all the commands and functions that are typical of tables, such as edit rows, copy and paste, etc.

CAD -Create tangent-tangent-tangent circle

A new option allows to create a circle by indicating three objects on which to keep tangent points; according to the elements and the points indicated the tool will determine the position of the circle to be created.

Topography – Management of GPS data

Topko Express 2009 includes management and calculation of GPS data. GPS data can be imported from the most widespread topographic instruments, and managed by GPS point tables(latitude-longitude geodetic coordinates or geocentric coordinates) or by baselines tables. Baseline calculation allows to determine map coordinates by the projection on a local system tangent to the reference base. For cadastral works it is also possible to create new baselines on existing topographic points.

Topography – Managing a topographic survey

All data concerning the topographic survey have been put together in a single dialog box, grouping all the data tables arranged in a tree structure; by a single click you can gain access to GPS point tables, baselines, measures, chains and offsets, traverse stations, datum points and coordinates. It is possible to filter data according to the station selected, while specific options allow to highlight data by different colours, according to survey code or station name.

Topography - Save settings and calculation options

The procedure performing the calculation of survey data has been made easier and faster, both in the number of steps and of possible options. The system can save all the settings performed during the calculation: the selection of the measures to be used in orientation and in the calculation of coordinates as well as the points to be used in the automatic rototranslation are information now saved and automatically displayed when the following calculation is performed, granting in this way the repetition of the results obtained.

Topography – Table of topographic points on graphic window

From the table of topographic points it is possible to create in the graphic window a drawing table containing data; it is possible to choose the data to report in the table as well as the display order. The table can contain all the table data or only the ones selected.

Topography – Rotate topographic point labels

Topographic point labels can have their own direction angle; labels rotation can be set manually, by the corresponding grip in the graphic window, by point properties window or by topographic points table.

Topography – Information concerning the topographic point inside the commands

This new function consists in displaying a window when the snap to object identifies a topographic point as a snap object; such window reports the data of the topographic point identified by the snap. In this way, when topographic points are overlapped, it is possible to understand whether the point selected is the desired one.

Cadastre – Parcel styles

It is possible to define one's own style for the drawing of cadastral parcels; the style allows to choose the kind of information to be displayed in parcels (name, owner, area, perimeter, length of sides), its size and a possible prefix.

3D Modelling- Insert contour lines

Topko Express 2009 allows to insert contour lines to check triangle digital model construction areas.

Sections – Height difference between section polylines

A specific option allows to obtain a columnreporting the height differences between any section lines.

Sections -Title and dimensioning colour in section dimensioning

A specific page allows to set title and dimensioning colour in the section dimensioning; in this way, it is possible to manage different colours for the single dimensioning rows.

Instructions for installation

Follow the instructions below to install Topko 2009 Express trial-version:

• Download Topko 2009 Express trial-version;
• Install Topko 2009 Express trial-version;
• Once the installation has been carried out, start the program;
• Press the button “Request for installation codes” available in “Installation code”
  window. Note: If the PC in which the program has been installed has no Internet connection, it is possible to enter www.sierrasoft.net and click on "Freeware and trial versions installation codes".
• Insert data (UserID and password) to enter user area, otherwise make a new registration;
• Fill in the request form for installation code, indicating "Serial number", displayed in "Installation code", window and the product installed;
• You will receive the installation code at the email address reported in the user registration.
  Note: The code will be sent exclusively by email and any PC will have its own code.
